Engraving

For more than 300 years, the Geneva tradition of engraving has been considered the ultimate expression of this beautiful art. Today, only a handful of artisans are left to perform the craft at the highest quality level. Our enamellers work in tandem with exceptional hand engravers to create the outstanding timepieces that are the DeLaneau trademark.
 
Extremely small tools with exceptionally sharp edges are required to transform the artisan’s vision on delicate watchcases and dials. Using a microscope, the challenge remains to work on a tiny surface. Each line must capture the light so as to entice the eye to wander over the finished surface. Miniature sculpture and carving skills are as required as a humble demeanour toward the precious metals.
